Proofreading
No matter if correspondence, term papers or websites, good grammar and spelling are important in every situation. Therefore, I offer to professionally proofread and correct your German texts for you.
I differentiate between proofreading and editing your texts. Proofreading includes the correction of the grammar, spelling, semantics and punctuation of your texts, whereas editing additionally includes the correction of your texts according to criteria such as coherence, style, composition and structure as well as comprehensibility.
Rates
Translations
Prices for translations are usually calculated per word and depend on several different factors such as length, difficulty and the degree of specialisation of the source text, file format, delivery date or the target audience (internal texts vs. texts for publication).
In order to receive a free individual quote for your translation project, you should attach your documents to your request. You can also directly upload your files in the contact form on my website.
For urgent translations (<24h) or weekend jobs, I calculate an increase of 50%.
Proofreading
The rate for proofreading and editing is calculated per hour and equally depends on factors such as difficulty, the degree of specialisation, file format or the expected delivery date.
Other works
For other editorial works, such as summaries or reports, an individual price is calculated depending on the kind and scope of your project. Please include such information in your email.
File formats
I work with all common file formats such as:
- TXT, Rich Text Format (RTF),
- Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX, DOCM),
- Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX, PPTM, PPSX, PPSM),
- Microsoft Excel (XLS, XLSX),
- OpenOffice,
If you send image files (e.g. JPG, GIF, PDF etc.) the translation will be delivered as a Word file.
Language pairs
- English → German
- French → German
In order to guarantee a high quality and adhering to the native speaker principle, I only offer translations into my native language German.
In the case that your project is a short translation that is not destined for publication, an exception can be made from this rule.
Software
I usually work with the CAT-Tools MemoQ and SDL Trados. I equally have licenses of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator and therefore offer smaller adaptations resulting from the translation. Please contact me for further information.
Sworn Translations
Do you need a translation of your birth certificate, a certificate or other documents for official use? As a sworn translator, I have been sworn before the Oberlandesgericht (Higher Regional Court) Koblenz in 2021, for translations between the language pairs EN-GER and FR-GER) and before the Cour d’appel de Colmar in 2023 (for translations between French and German). I can therefore translate and certify translations for use in France and Germany, as well as in other European countries (in accordance with European law).
